About

Mundelein OrganThe organ at St. Mary of the Annunciation is inspired by the American Classic tradition of the mid 20th century. In particular, care has been taken with the design of the instrument for flexible use in accompanying the liturgy and congregational song.

A unique aspect of the organ is the unusually large Solo division. This is not the typical Solo found in American or English organs, but is based on the French Resonance. Our version I a complete secondary chorus which is common to the Pedal. The Solo has been placed under expression to give the organist a great deal of control over the volume of the instrument.

Our overall goal was to create an instrument full of rich color, and capable of grand sound with offending the ear.
